About the Cadence CS4 Match Fishing Reel
The Cadence CS4 Fixed Spool Match Reel provides unparalleled value. The CS4 has been designed with a set of premium features that are found on reels costing much more. The carbon composite frame and side plates produce a lightweight, strong and corrosion resistant body. It features 8 ball bearings that produce a smooth retrieve and a reliable drag system. The reel comes with a shallow aluminium match spool and a shallow graphite match spool.

I have a pair of these in 3000 size and find them amazing value ( especially as they were free with the rods!). The line lay is more than adequate for medium range casting and the winding power for a small reel is exceptional. The flex in the body is minimal under normal use too. If I could change a couple of minor things to make it 5 stars it would be a slightly shorter stem ( for short fingered people like me) and the close position on the bail arm which sometimes hinders opening. All in all another quality item from cadence.

I have a pair of these in 4000 size stunning build quality and on the offer I got buy one get one free they can’t be beaten for a base model reel with all the feature you would expect from a £100 reel from other manufacturers

I took advantage of the 2 for one offer and purchased a 3000, and 4000 version of the CS4 reels. These were to replace a couple of 45 year old Mitchell reels, a 410 and a 208, both still working. I only recently started fishing again after a break since 1994! These are the first reels of the ‘new’ design of open faced reels I have used and I have been impressed with how smooth they are. Last week using the 3000 on my equally ancient (to my old reels) carbon match rod it managed to winch in a carp of around 10 pounds from our very weedy club pond. I would definitely consider Cadence tackle again their prices seem to be competitive and if the quality is the same as these ‘cheap’ reels then the tackle represents good value for money.

Don’t let the price mislead you. The CS4 may not be made from the hi-tech materials of the more expensive Candence reels , but they have some good specs which make them nice and smooth. They are suitable for stick float , waggler, bolo , bomb and short distance feeder work and would not be out of place on a lure fishing rod.

My brother gave me one of these 4000 Reels to try, after he took advantage of the Cadence offer.
I’m chuffed with it. I have matched it with a 10ft Pellet waggler rod. Superfast retrieve and is super smooth. Line lay is good with 0.18mm main line and casting 3 gram wagglers is easy. Clutch is very consistent.
He is not getting it back and i am going to buy two more for my feeder and bomb rod.

After taking the Black Friday offer back in 2020 I now have four of these reels in 3000 size and they are fantastic!
Not only brilliantly powerful but also light and the line lay is brilliant, they do add extra washers to adjust the line lay if needed.
I have these set up on my river rods for waggler and crow quill fishing but also my commercial waggler fishing to.
Well worth the purchase if your in the market for a mid range reel and low end prices!
