Hi i purchased a 13ft power feeder about three weeks ago i have used it on the bristol avon in deep and powerful flow 13ft plus depth and have found it a joy to use when catching roach, chub and a surprise barbel the surprise barbel was 6 to 7 pounds mind you i have also caught 1 ounce roach on the rod all on relatively light hook lenghs and the rod has performed beautifully now just left is one or two of those big newbridge bream before the season end.

I purchased the 13ft #1 feeder rod for when I need a little more power or casting distance than the 12ft #2 provides. I must say I am very pleased with the rod having used it on a couple of occasions now catching a few Bream, Skimmers and Tench. So far I have only used it to 50m but this was easily achieved into a stiff head wind. The finish and fittings are perfect and the playing action is wonderful when better fish are hooked and still soft enough not to wind skimmers off the hook. All in all a great addition to my kit and it won’t be my last.

Recently bought a Cadence CR10 13ft #3 feeder. Haven’t used it yet but putting it up with a reel and weight in the garden it looks a very good rod for the money. It’s very light for what is a heavy feeder and nice and slim. The action is also very good and It compares well with some much more expensive better known brands products i’ve looked at. It’s well finished and comes with a really good rod tube. The company dealt very well with the order. Only niggle I have is I have ended up with three 3oz quiver tips. Doesn’t bother me as the tip blends well with the rod. If I am in the market for another rod, Cadence will be my first port of call.

CR10 13ft Power Feeder #3 – Purchased this and was straight on the bank as soon as lockdown allowed!

Matched it up with a CS10 4000 reel using 0.24 pulse pro line, it casts a treat using my 50g cage and slightly lighter method feeders.

I’ll probably invest in the heavier tips supplied as additional extras for when the weather really starts to play up, but the tips that are provided more than suffice for this wonderful piece of kit!

I purchased the 13ft #2 feeder rod during lockdown having come back to coarse fishing after a 30 +year break! It is a fantastic looking rod that is nicely balanced and feels great as well when in use. The action of the rod is excellent.

Overall, I could not be happier with my purchase and when I make my next rod purchase (my 35 year old match rod is looking somewhat dated now!), I will not hesitate to buy from Cadence.

Ordered a 13ft no 3 Sunday evening, it arrived Tuesday morning and I am well impressed with fit, finish and service of my cadence rod.
All I need now is cadence to replenish its supply of cs6 or cs7 400 reels so I can get the reel to suit , especially if the bogof offer still stands.
Well done the lads at cadence, you have another convert

I have the 13ft#3 since first Cadence boxing day offer in December 2017, paired with the CS8 4000 reel and its still my go to rod when fishing rivers like Ribble and Severn in normal flow conditions with 40-80gr feeders. I landed my PB barbel (12.8lb) last summer with a 0.14 hooklength and 14 lwgf hook but also a pleasure to land small dace and roach from the rivers. A nice balanced combo, light and crisp for a heavy feeder rod.

I purchased the last CR10 13ft Power Feeder #3 that was in stock at the begging of July. The theory being that after all the dry weather the river would receive some much needed rain. Since this time we’ve had one rise in water levels that yo-yoed up and down for a few days. I fished with the rod on one of these days, starting my session on a steady river then after 1 1/2 hours had to deal with a rising river carrying masses of floating weed. Eventually after two hours the river became unfishable. However in this short session I managed to catch a personal best Chub at 5lb, a small 2lb Chub and a 1lb Eel. The rod handled the 60g / 2oz feeder on a moderate cast with ease. In my opinion the rod performed well with both a 3oz tip supplied and the additional 4oz tip I purchased. I cannot see me using the other tips supplied with the rod unless it was going to be used as a long range feeder rod on large natural lakes or larger method feeder work. I can definitely see the versatility of this rod for the fishing conditions mentioned above. I’ve been fishing with old Tricast Legend feeder rods constructed from heavy more robust carbon technology from the early 2000’s. My initial reaction straight out of the rod tube was this rod is too light a flimsy to handle 2oz and 3oz feeders yet alone tame 4lb + Chub and Barbel on the Ribble. Yes the rod does bend but the power within the middle of the rod really did the business when I hooked into my 5lb Chub. I had already lost a feeder to a large underwater snag earlier in the session so I knew I had to play this fish hard. My 0.25mm hook link combined with the parabolic action of the rod allowed me to hang on and pull hard without snapping the line. In contrast catching a 2lb Chub could be still enjoyed on a rod that wasn’t a poker, still able to feel the head nods whilst playing the fish. The question has to be why have I only rated the rod 4 stars instead of five! I’m a tough critique and there was no way a five star verdict could be given until I’ve completed more fishing hours using the rod. Watch this space as I will provide an updated review towards the end of 2021 when if the water levels ever rise I will have hopefully but it through a proper test.
PS: I forgot to mention superb service, ordered the rod and it arrived within a few days – great job Cadence!

Hi, my 2nd updated review as promised. I’ve moved the rod from 4-star to 5-star after a full testing session on the Ribble. I decided to take this rod to its design performance boundaries and fish a 5 to 6 foot fast, foaming water below the head of a pool. The peg in question has a large sunken tree snag on the far side of the river (approximately 45 metres across the river). I have hooked Barbel during low water levels on float tackle that have simple proved unstoppable and the inevitable happened, seeing me off as they powered into the sunken tree. These fish are not monsters but use the powerful flow to their advantage.
I tackled the swim with a 2oz feeder (just holding), 0.22mm hook length and a 4oz test curve tip. The rod flawlessly casts a 2oz feeder across the 45 metre width of the river and I genuinely feel it would cast 3oz with similar ease. The only issue I had was the 4oz tip simple wasn’t up for the job in such a powerful flow. I managed even thou the tip was bent at 45 degrees, bites were registered via firm taps that registered on the last few inches of the incredible middle section or unmistakable drop bites. To be fair this is no failing as the rod needed a 6oz tip for this particular fishing situation.
I hooked and held a very lively 6lb Barbel as the middle section bent in an avon style test curve, absorbing powerful lunges whilst the reel clutch conceded a maximum of two foot of mono line. I watched the rod action as I hung on to this fish. The magic with this rod is most definitely within its middle section as the top (the end into which the quiver tip is inserted) is very responsive, bending at will when placed under pressure and even able to register bites should you fish it with the wrong strength of test cure quiver tip in fast flowing rivers. Meanwhile the power increases through the middle section as pressure increases. I noticed later in the session whilst playing tug of war with another Barbel on heavier 0.25mm hook lengths the continuity between the handle section and the middle section. The handle section is very powerful with only a slight flex, providing a backbone for the parabolic action of the middle section. Having said that, the lunges of a large fish in a powerful flow can still be felt through the handle section.
The nature of the swim I fished simply required a hook and hold policy otherwise fish would find the underwater sunken tree. This kind of situation usually throws up one or more of the following angling scenarios.
    1. Fish lunges hard snapping hook length.
    2. Fish lunges hard resulting in the hook pulling out.
    3. Fish lunges hard the rod bends too much or reel clutch is not set correctly resulting in the fish swimming into the snag.
    4. Fish lunges hard the rod cushions the pressure in combination with a perfectly set reel clutch and it is guided away from the danger zone and is landed safely.
To ensure scenario number 4 occurs nine times out of ten an angler requires the right tool for the job!
In my humble opinion the Cadence CR10 13ft #3 feeder rod is just the job for hook and hold situations. It has blended the power and finesse balance required from a match / pleasure river feeder rod superbly. I will submit one more review when I have used the rod in a different type of swim on the River Ribble and share my thoughts.
In the meantime I’m considering placing an order for the Cadence 13ft 8inch Power Feeder Rod with it’s sliced in 6oz test curve carbon tip. Why purchase a more powerful rod when I have just waxed lyrical about the CR10 #3 feeder rod? At the start of the review I mentioned that I fished the CR10 #3 feeder rod right on the boundaries of its design performance limits. I could possibly obtain the quiver tip performance required in the swim described above with the purchase of a 6oz test curve carbon tip. However in my experience with rods designed for such fast flowing swims or deep powerful rivers, a 6oz carbon tip that has been sliced into a rod generally performs better. It would be a luxury purchase only justified in my eyes by the venue I fish so regularly, the River Ribble.
I hope this review has been of use to anyone going through the process of deciding which Cadence feeder rod within its comprehensive range is best suited to their own angling requirements.

Absolutely brilliant rod. Fished River Wye 3/4 across on 3oz feeder. Could tell the rod could chuck a lot further. Really well tested on barbel to 8 lb which it handled superbly. Will be looking at other rods in range
